Strengthen Yourself In The Lord
Read Deut. 10:12-22 And now, O Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe the Lord's commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good?
To the Lord your God belong the heavens, even the highest heavens, the earth and everything in it. Yet the Lord set his affection on your forefathers and loved them, and he chose you, their descendants, above all the nations, as it is today. Circumcise your hearts, therefore, and do not be stiff-necked any longer. For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality and accepts no bribes. He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the alien, giving him food and clothing. And you are to love those who are aliens, for you yourselves were aliens in Egypt. Fear the Lord your God and serve him. Hold fast to him and take your oaths in his name. He is your praise; he is your God, who performed for you those great and awesome wonders you saw with your own eyes.
There are at least five things today’s passage shows us we can do to strengthen ourselves in the Lord. Fear God, Walk in His Ways, Love Him, Serve Him and observe all His commands..
First we are to have a literal Fear of God. Yes He loves us deeply but he also can snuff out our lives in a split second. He is Jehovah your God; He made you, He preserves you, and He governs you.
We are called to Walk In His Ways. We need to obey Him completely, not 50 percent of the time but we must walk in all God’s ways. Our goal should be to walk in His ways one hundred percent of the time. In times that we fail, stop where you missed God and go back there and start again. We are not called to walk in our own ways nor are we called to walk in the ways of the people of the land.
We must Love Him. We must develop confidence in God as our Father and Friend. Like any relationship our relationship with God should be growing and maturing every day. Today we should be closer to Him then we were yesterday. We need to love him in return for his love. He lavished His love upon us lavish your love on Him.
We need to Serve Him. Our service to God is to give him the worship which he requires, we need to perform it with all our hearts, make it the whole of our affections, we need to serve Him with all our soul, will, understanding, and judgment.
Then we need to obey His Commands. Nothing make a parent happier then a child who obeys everything they are told to do. The exercises that seem insignificant when young prove invaluable as we get older. The small things are actually the foundation for greater things in the future.
Father, I need to understand these principles and apply them to my life. You said in Your Word that you have given me everything I need for life and godliness through our knowledge of You. I ask you for knowledge of You today. I ask you for understanding today, I ask You for the ability to walk in Your ways today, in the precious name of Jesus.
Read Isaiah 26:1-11 In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah: We have a strong city; God makes salvation its walls and ramparts. Open the gates that the righteous nation may enter, the nation that keeps faith. You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord, is the Rock eternal. He humbles those who dwell on high, he lays the lofty city low; he levels it to the ground and casts it down to the dust. Feet trample it down--the feet of the oppressed, the footsteps of the poor.
The path of the righteous is level; O upright One, you make the way of the righteous smooth. Yes, Lord, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you; your name and renown are the desire of our hearts. My soul yearns for you in the night; in the morning my spirit longs for you. When your judgments come upon the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness. Though grace is shown to the wicked, they do not learn righteousness; even in a land of uprightness they go on doing evil and regard not the majesty of the Lord. O Lord, your hand is lifted high, but they do not see it. Let them see your zeal for your people and be put to shame; let the fire reserved for your enemies consume them.
I was talking with a friend of mine recently and she told me of a picture that God had showed her. I related to it because a number of years ago I was a mounted police officer. Way back in the seventies, (here I go dating myself again!) I was a deputy sheriff assigned to a mounted horse division. Our job was to provide security at events where there were large assemblies of people. One mounted horse officer could see over the heads of people and see any problems before they became to large to handle. One horse officer is equal to about ten foot officers in a crowd control situation.
Both horse and rider had to be trained to work in crowded conditions. The horse had to come to a place where it put its complete trust in its rider. Horses like people all have different personalities. Some are gentle and laid back to the point where nothing seems to upset them. Others are calm and quiet until something happens that surprises them and then they explode in a fury of hooves and hair. Still other horses are always on edge and to ride them is always an experience, you never know when they are going to do something unexpected.
One of the training exercises we had to do and do extremely well was to learn to shoot our weapon from the horses back, or walk our horse through waving flags and balloons while people were waving and hitting the horse all the while having firecrackers exploding at the horses feet. As you can imagine this could be difficult for a human to do let alone a horse.
The lesson to be learned is that the horse (us) has to put complete confidence in the rider (God). This doesn’t happen the first time the horse and rider team up, it is a process of trust built up through overcoming smaller obstacles before one can get to the difficult exercises There must develop such a close relationship that no mater where the rider leads, even if it frightening, the horse will follow the lead of the rider. Many horses are disqualified from duty because they can’t overcome their fears and trust completely in the rider. Another training tool we used was to pair up the older mature horses with younger inexperienced ones. The older horse would have a calming effect on the young one and the younger one could often do, with an experienced horse by it’s side, something it couldn’t do alone.
You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord, is the Rock eternal. And The path of the righteous is level; O upright One, you make the way of the righteous smooth. Today’s scripture reading promises us peace and a level path for those who trust in the Lord. God, like the rider, is a Rock, nothing moves, Him nothing takes Him by surprise, He is ready for every situation. He holds the reigns with a firm yet loose hand. He will direct us through anything that comes our way in perfect peace if we will keep in our mind that he is in control and can see much farther ahead then we can and knows what hindrances are out in front of us. He will start us out with small tests of faith and move us into greater ones as we learn. He will never leave us or forsake us.
Lord help me to keep my mind perfectly fixed on You. Help me to see that there is nothing that You don’t know about and that You have my life in complete command. I choose to this day release my control of my life and yield to the gentle nudge of your hand on my life. Help me to follow through the obstacles in front of me so I will arrive safely where you want me to be.
Read Isaiah 42:10-13 Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise from the ends of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, you islands, and all who live in them. Let the desert and its towns raise their voices; let the settlements where Kedar lives rejoice. the people of Sela sing for joy; let them shout from the mountaintops. Let them give glory to the Lord and proclaim his praise in the islands. The Lord will march out like a mighty man, like a warrior he will stir up his zeal; with a shout he will raise the battle cry and will triumph over his enemies.
Another way to strengthen ourselves in the Lord is to sing praise to Him. In today reading we see the power of praise. As we begin to sing praise the sea and the creatures, in fact everything, in the sea will praise with us. The islands begin to sing to Him as does the deserts and little towns scattered across the globe.
So often we start to focus so much on ourselves that we don’t realize that there are people all across the world praising Him as well. Even in the dead of the night somewhere someone is awake and praising Him. Jesus said that if people don’t praise Him then even rocks will begin to praise Him. Even all of creation is groaning waiting for its liberation. Creation knows the necessity of praising God. There is constant praise going on in heaven around the throne, we are not alone in praising Him.
And then scripture says that the result of our praise the Lord will march out and will triumph over His (our) enemies.
Today lets join in with the seas, islands, creatures, heaven and with others in the universe and strength ourselves in the Lord through praise to Him.
Father I praise You today, I worship You, I exalt You, I honor You, I extol You, I lift Your name above every name, I magnify You, You are the Most High God, there is none like You, You are the I AM, You are before me, behind me and with me and I thank you for that.
Read Psalm 139:1-18 For the director of music. Of David. A psalm.
O Lord, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord.
You hem me in--behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.
Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.
If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me," even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake, I am still with you.
Another way to strengthen ourselves in the Lord is to read about His attributes. So for the next few days we will read passages that speak directly of God’s attributes.
The first six verses speak of God being omniscient. They speak of God’s knowledge of us, how he knows our thoughts and motives. He knows us when we come and go, and that He is behind and before us in all we do.
Then the next six verses speak of God as being omnipresent. The Psalmist asks “where can I go and get away from you?” the answer is nowhere. No matter where I go high or low, left or right, dark or day, God is there.
The following seven verses show us that He is omnipotent. That God has unlimited power and authority. At His word we were crested in our mothers womb. That every day of our lives is accounted for before the first day of our birth. It says that God’s thoughts are too numerous to count.
This should strengthen us because now we know that He is not caught off guard at anything that comes our way. Not one thing that happened yesterday, today, tomorrow, or next year or a hundred ears from today.
Be Still and know he is God.
Father I thank You that You are in complete control over my world. I thank You that there is nothing that can happen to me that You are not aware of. I choose to rest in you today, I choose to give my life completely to You for Your good pleasure. Amen
Read Isaiah 43:1-13 But now, this is what the Lord says--he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I give Egypt for your ransom, Cush and Seba in your stead. Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give men in exchange for you, and people in exchange for your life. Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west. I will say to the north, 'Give them up' and to the south, 'Do not hold them back. 'Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth-- everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made."
Lead out those who have eyes but are blind, have ears but are deaf. All the nations gather together and the peoples assemble. Which of them foretold this and proclaimed to us the former things? Let them bring in their witnesses to prove they were right, so that others may hear and say, "It is true." "You are my witnesses," declares the Lord, "and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me. I, even I, am the Lord, and apart from me there is no savior. I have revealed and saved and proclaimed--I, and not some foreign god among you. You are my witnesses," declares the Lord, "that I am God. Yes, and from ancient days I am he. No one can deliver out of my hand. When I act, who can reverse it?"
WOW! What a powerful passage. This should really strengthen you in the Lord!
Holy Spirit starts off with telling that YOU are His. That what ever you go through you will be protected. Often when I speak to someone of God’s goodness and make a statement like He will protect you when you go through the trials of life, I get some pretty disagreeable comments.
When you are going through something and the process or the outcome isn’t what you wanted, it doesn’t mean that it isn’t what God wanted. God loves you so much that He will accept you just the way you are. But He loves you so much he won’t leave you the way you are. Many of life’s, floods, fires, and train wrecks are God allowing you to move to a higher level.
God declares in today’s passage that you and I are His witnesses. A witness is one who testifies or tells what they have seen, nothing more and nothing less. Each time God brings us through a difficult time it gives us an opportunity to be His witness. You were created for His glory, through being a witness he is glorified.
Today reread today passage very slowly and think back about how He has brought you through various trials. Then be His witness, it’s a fact if you are breathing you are a witness of His greatness.
Father thank you again for bringing me through so many things in my life. Thank You that You summoned me by name, thank You that You redeemed me, thank You that You are always by my side. Help me to be Your witness today. I declare I am Your witness and Your servant. Amen
Isaiah 43:16-28 This is what the Lord says--he who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters, who drew out the chariots and horses, the army and reinforcements together, and they lay there, never to rise again, extinguished, snuffed out like a wick: "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland. The wild animals honor me, the jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the desert and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen, the people I formed for myself they may proclaim my praise.
"Yet you have not called upon me, O Jacob, you have not wearied yourselves for me, O Israel. You have not brought me sheep for burnt offerings, nor honored me with your sacrifices. I have not burdened you with grain offerings nor wearied you with demands for incense. You have not bought any fragrant calamus for me, or lavished on me the fat of your sacrifices. But you have burdened me with your sins and wearied me with your offenses.
"I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more. Review the past for me, let us argue the matter together; the case for your innocence. Your first father sinned; your spokesmen rebelled against me. So I will disgrace the dignitaries of your temple, and I will consign Jacob to destruction and Israel to scorn.
Yesterday we saw that God will be with us through the water and trouble. Today that thought is continued as we read, forget the things of the past, don’t look back, because God is doing something new in your life. Yes even as we are in a season of spring in the natural, we are also in a season of something new in the spirit.
Verse 19 says “I am doing a new thing” not “I’m thinking about it”, or “I might do something new”, or “if I get around to it it’ll be new”. God says I am doing a new thing! The perception of it is up to us. It has been said that if you perceive something it is as good as actually happening as far as you’re concerned. Do you know you can perceive color, hot and cold, or taste. Another saying is never argue with a man who has had an experience.
If you have had some experience, no matter how weird, there is no one who can convince you that you didn’t have it. There are also times when you can “taste” something you enjoy even though you are not eating it. If you close your eyes and think of your current home you can “see” it in your mind. No one will be able to tell you, that you didn’t see it.
When God says something it is the same way. In Isaiah 34:19 he says “I am doing a new thing”, and “… do you not perceive it?” just because you don’t see it doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. The Word of God says we need to perceive it. We need to look at our circumstance and declare “God’s Word say’s He is doing a new thing so He must be doing a new thing!” The passage continues on to say what He is doing… He is making a way, He is providing water to the thirsty.
The amazing thing about this is that He is doing it even though we haven’t honored Him! Yet in spite of our not honoring Him, He … blots out your transgressions, for HIS own sake, and remembers your sins no more. (emphasis mine). He chooses to blot out your sin and then makes a decision to never remember the sin ever again! Praise God! and all you did was to forget to honor Him. WOW we serve an amazing God.
Today strengthen yourselves with the FACT that God is doing a new thing. Remember that even if you don’t see it He is doing something new.
I declare that God is doing a new thing in my life. Nothing can stop God from accomplishing His new thing in my life. I choose to forget the things of the past. I speak to my spirit man and declare God has forgotten the former things so I choose to forget the former things. I choose today to NOT dwell on the things of the past. Instead I WILL dwell on the new thing He is doing in my life.
Father I ask you to reveal to me the new thing You are doing, help me to perceive it, even if I don’t see it. I ask this in the matchless Name of Jesus Christ, amen.
Read Isaiah 43:26-44:5 Review the past for me, let us argue the matter together; state the case for your innocence. Your first father sinned; your spokesmen rebelled against me. So I will disgrace the dignitaries of your temple, and I will consign Jacob to destruction and Israel to scorn.
"But now listen, O Jacob, my servant, Israel, whom I have chosen. This is what the Lord says-- who made you, who formed you in the womb, and who will help you: Do not be afraid, O Jacob, my servant, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen. For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants. They will spring up like grass in a meadow, like poplar trees by flowing streams. One will say, 'I belong to the Lord'; another will call himself by the name of Jacob; still another will write on his hand, 'The Lord’s, ‘and will take the name Israel.
We are continuing the reading in Isaiah chapter 43-44 today. I have pasted them together so that we are able to read the passage as a continuous thought rather then a new chapter. Yesterday we looked at how God chooses to remember our sins NO MORE. That of itself sure will strengthen us!
I touched on it yesterday but want to revisit what our requirement is to receive such a wonderful gift. In our natural (human) state we are constantly reminded of our fallen condition, even here in this passage it says “Your first father sinned; your spokesmen rebelled against me” a reminder of our being conceived and born in sin. Even of our inability to have a “good” spokesmen argue our case. Father God sarcastically suggests we have a little “man to Man” talk. He speaks first and end of conversation, we don’t dare say anything. Its been said “if God ask you a question, its not because He needs an answer.” God asks us questions because we need an answer. "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord. Isaiah 55:8 In this passage He goes on and puts us in our place showing us we have no hope.
But he does not leave us there. After tearing us down to nothing He then brings us back to the place of showing us that in spite of the fact we are nothing, we are everything. God loves to pour out His blessings on us even though there is not any way that we deserve it. I can’t help but think back on yesterdays reading in Isaiah 43:22-25. It is as clear as can be that the people did not do anything that the Lord commanded, no praying, no sacrifices, no trust, no tithing, NO NOTHING! But our Father says in both verses 43:25 and 44:3&4 I will forgive your sin and will pour out blessings on you AND on your offspring. No questions, no excuses, nothing expected, just His love for us. It is truly amazing!
Oh God I am amazed by your love for Me. That you would so desire to have a relationship with me that you would blot out all my transgressions and failures; that You would send Your son Jesus to insure that You could have a relationship with me. Thank You for this knowledge that is almost to wonderful for me to behold. I choose to strengthen myself through the fact of Your love for me today. Amen
Read Psalm Psalm 136:1-26
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.
His love endures forever. Give thanks to the God of gods.
His love endures forever. Give thanks to the Lord of lords:
His love endures forever. to him who alone does great wonders,
His love endures forever. who by his understanding made the heavens,
His love endures forever. who spread out the earth upon the waters,
His love endures forever. who made the great lights--
His love endures forever. the sun to govern the day,
His love endures forever. the moon and stars to govern the night;
His love endures forever. to him who struck down the firstborn of Egypt
His love endures forever. and brought Israel out from among them
His love endures forever. with a mighty hand and outstretched arm;
His love endures forever. to him who divided the Red Sea asunder
His love endures forever. and brought Israel through the midst of it,
His love endures forever. but swept Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea;
His love endures forever. to him who led his people through the desert,
His love endures forever. who struck down great kings,
His love endures forever. and killed mighty kings--
His love endures forever. Sihon king of the Amorites
His love endures forever. and Og king of Bashan--
His love endures forever. and gave their land as an inheritance,
His love endures forever. an inheritance to his servant Israel;
His love endures forever. to the One who remembered us in our low estate
His love endures forever. and freed us from our enemies,
His love endures forever. and who gives food to every creature.
His love endures forever.
Give thanks to the God of heaven.
His love endures forever.
An interesting thing happened while I was cutting and pasting today’s scripture passage. When I read this passage in my Bible it has the stanza first and then the exclamation “His love endures forever”. So, we can read down and see what God has done and then make an exclamation of His goodness to us. However as I pasted the passage the exclamation came first and the stanza second. I had gone through and changed it to read like we normally read it in our Bibles but I sensed I was supposed to leave it the way it had copied over, so I went back and redid the passage so it reads like you read it today..
What’s the big deal about that? I sensed God speak to me as that was happening and said “when you exclaim My love first I will do great things among you”. In other words, we need to come to a place of exclaiming His love not because of what He has done but because His love does endure forever. The result of His love enduring for us is all the rest of the things will take place.
I can’t help but realize the God is so much bigger then we usually understand. He does make the heavens, He does make the sun to govern by day and the moon by night, He did bring us out with an outstretched arm, and lead us through the desert. God’s love is so great for us that he does all things. Not because we love Him but because he first loved us.
Perhaps today you can proclaim His love endures forever!
Father thank you for Your enduring love. Thank You that Jesus endured the cross for me. Thank You for strengthening my mind and heart with Your Word. I in turn bless You because You are God.
Read Isaiah 61:1-3The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion-- to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.
Jesus used this passage to introduce Himself to ministry in Nazareth. The Lord also used this passage to call me into the office of pastor. Notice I didn’t say “called me into ministry”. Know why? Because we are all called to ministry. If you are breathing and a follower of Jesus Christ you ARE A MINISTER. Every one of you is called to FULL TIME MINISTRY. (sorry for yelling at you, just trying to make a point!)
God did not call you (save you) to sit on the bench your whole life waiting to be put into the game. If that were the case He would have saved you and immediately killed you so you could be with Him. He called you and threw you into the game. You are on the most powerful team in the universe. Each Christian has more power in their pinky finger then all the hordes of hell. The problem is, is that both your coach and the coach from the opposing team are both trying to kill you, …who’s gonna win?
Today’s passage shows us what God has done with us to win in this life. He has bandaged our broken hearts, hearts that are deeply afflicted and distressed either because of sins, captivity, oppression, or of the loss of relationships and friends. Jesus applied the balm of consolation to our hearts, to give us joy and peace
He has given us a tiara (turban, or diadem) of beauty and taken off our heads the dust and ashes of mourning. Then He anointed you a minister of gladness, and clothed you with a royal vestment of praise. As if that’s not enough, then He plants you as firmly as an oak tree that He might be displayed in and through you. He’s talkin’ to you…yah YOU!!
How wonderful He is, He loves you so much He freely gave all of this to you, no questions asked, it just comes with the purchase price of His blood.
There is one thing we need to understand about this freedom God has given us. It came at the greatest cost one could ever pay. It cost everything God had, It cost Jesus his life. We therefore can not take the pearl of great price and throw it before pigs. We must realize what it cost for us to have all Christ has given us and honor it above everything else. Never take your salvation for granted, never put anything before it, always guard and protect your heart from taking lightly the wonderful gift God, through His Son Jesus, has provided each of you.
Be strengthened in your Redeemer today.
Father thank you for the amazing gift of salvation You have provided me. Thank you that you made me a priest and king and crowned me with honor. I bless you with all that is in me.
I declare the I am anointed to proclaim the good news, I am anointed to bind up the broken hearted, I am anointed to set captives free, I am anointed to bestow on others a crown of beauty, the oil of gladness, and a garment of praise, and set them firmly in place to display Your splendor, in the name of Jesus.
Read Rev. 3:7-13 "To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan, who claim to be Jews though they are not, but are liars--I will make them come and fall down at your feet and acknowledge that I have loved you. Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth.
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will he leave it. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on him my new name. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
As we come to the end of our 21 day time of strengthening ourselves in the Lord, we need to ask God what is the next step for us both corporately and individually. God will speak, expect Him too.
Wow! Talk about being strengthened in the Lord, did you catch what Jesus said in today’s passage? You have before you a door that NO ONE can shut! And, when He shuts you in NO ONE can open what God has closed!
He does this for you knowing that “you have little strength”. Look, He goes on to say that your enemies will bow and declare that God loves you. That you will endure to the end.
We are spirit beings living in a physical body, that means that what is being said here is already taken place. Matt: 16:19 Wuest Bible says I shall give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth [forbid to be done], shall have been already bound [forbidden to be done] in heaven' and whatever you loose on earth [permit to be done], shall have already been loosed in heaven [permitted to be done]. We limit ourselves by not understanding this spiritual principle. Everything has already been done for us, God is just waiting for us to understand and apprehend it. We can take this word as a prophetic word that Jesus Himself is speaking over us that will allow us to keep “His word and not deny His name”. That prophetic word from our Savior is that “we will hold on to what He has given us, that we will overcome and we are pillars in His temple”.
As an over comer you are a pillar in His temple, you have the name of God on you, you have His word that He will never leave you, you have His new name written on you by Him. Rejoice in the Lord always, again I say rejoice!
Father today I declare that I am an over comer! I am seated with You in heavenly places! I am the righteousness of God in Christ! I speak to every door before me that is to be opened and I say in the Name of Jesus Christ be opened! I speak to every door that is to closed, be closed in the name of Jesus Christ!
I declare that what God has opened in my life, it must be opened NOW! I declare what God has closed must be closed NOW in Christ’s Name. I am worthy, and I am Gods child, and I am a pillar, and He does know my name, both my current name and my new name!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Let out a shout of victory! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Read Isaiah 40:9-31 (New Living Translation) Messenger of good news, shout to Zion from the mountaintops! Shout louder to Jerusalem—do not be afraid. Tell the towns of Judah, "Your God is coming!" Yes, the Sovereign Lord is coming in all his glorious power. He will rule with awesome strength. See, he brings his reward with him as he comes. He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will carry the lambs in his arms, holding them close to his heart. He will gently lead the mother sheep with their young.
Who else has held the oceans in his hand? Who has measured off the heavens with his fingers? Who else knows the weight of the earth or has weighed out the mountains and the hills? Who is able to advise the Spirit of the Lord? Who knows enough to be his teacher or counselor? Has the Lord ever needed anyone's advice? Does he need instruction about what is good or what is best? No, for all the nations of the world are nothing in comparison with him. They are but a drop in the bucket, dust on the scales. He picks up the islands as though they had no weight at all. All Lebanon's forests do not contain sufficient fuel to consume a sacrifice large enough to honor him. All Lebanon's sacrificial animals would not make an offering worthy of our God. The nations of the world are as nothing to him. In his eyes they are less than nothing—mere emptiness and froth.
To whom, then, can we compare God? What image might we find to resemble him? Can he be compared to an idol formed in a mold, overlaid with gold, and decorated with silver chains? Or is a poor person's wooden idol better? Can God be compared to an idol that must be placed on a stand so it won't fall down?
Have you never heard or understood? Are you deaf to the words of God—the words he gave before the world began? Are you so ignorant? It is God who sits above the circle of the earth. The people below must seem to him like grasshoppers! He is the one who spreads out the heavens like a curtain and makes his tent from them. He judges the great people of the world and brings them all to nothing. They hardly get started, barely taking root, when he blows on them and their work withers. The wind carries them off like straw.
"To whom will you compare me? Who is my equal?" asks the Holy One.
Look up into the heavens. Who created all the stars? He brings them out one after another, calling each by its name. And he counts them to see that none are lost or have strayed away.
O Israel, how can you say the Lord does not see your troubles? How can you say God refuses to hear your case? Have you never heard or understood? Don't you know that the Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth? He never grows faint or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. He gives power to those who are tired and worn out; he offers strength to the weak. Even youths will become exhausted, and young men will give up. But those who wait on the Lord will find new strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.
A number of years ago we were painting a mural on our church building. Because we were not artists we were unable to paint the mural free hand. So we made transparencies of the picture we wanted to paint and at dusk we went outside with an overhead projector and projected the image onto the wall. We then took grease pencils and made an outline of the image that was projected on the wall. Next we got cans of paint and gave each color a number that corresponded to a color on the original picture we wanted to copy. In effect when we finished the outline we had a 10 foot high by 15 foot long giant paint by the number picture.
The following day in the daylight each person looked at the outline on the wall and found a section they wanted to paint. In the section was a number, then they went to the paint cans and located the paint can that had the number from the section on the wall. Each person could paint whatever color they wanted. As the day progressed more an more of the wall was getting colored in. At one point someone walked about 50 feet away from the mural and exclaimed “wow it looks great!”. We all went back to that vantage point and were amazed at how good it looked.
For several hours as we painted our eyes were only a foot or so away from the wall we were painting. It was necessary to do that to make sure we stayed within the established parameters so the finished picture would have the proper depth, shading, and form necessary to accomplish the end result. Our job of painting a small section seemed tedious and insignificant, as if we were not accomplishing anything.
But when we took our focus off the little section we were on and stepped back and looked at the whole picture we could see that without our individual sections being done right the entire mural would not have been complete.
When you are to close to the masterpiece it looks like a mess, but step back and look and it is absolutely beautiful. We can’t see ourselves as masterpieces because we are to close to the masterpiece but from Gods perspective he sees your role in His plan for the whole earth. He looks and sees how beautiful you are and how well you fit into His plan for creation. If you don’t do your part in the “section” He has given you then the whole “mural” will not have the proper form He desires.
From my vantage point I see you as a masterpiece the God is creating, from my vantage point through my eyes you are beautiful darling!
Go back and reread today’s scripture and think about how big, huge, gigantic, immense and powerful our Father is. Realize that there is nothing about you, your life, family, friends or co-workers that God can’t deal with. That as he sees you He sees His beautiful work in progress and He is wowed by you.
Father I thank You that You hold the waters of earth in your hand, that in the breadth of Your hand You hold the entire universe. There is nothing to even compare You to. You are the most infinite friend I can have. I thank You for working in my life. I thank you that You don’t look at me from my vantage point but You see me as a perfect beautiful creation of Yours.
I bless You with all that I can muster in my heart and mind, all I can do is to thank You, thank You, thank You, amen
